Building on the skills developed in Legal Practice Skills, this course will deepen students’ understanding of legal research in the context of transactional and corporate practice. Course modules will put students into simulated research scenarios encountered by legal practitioners. The course will introduce students to resources and methods used by attorneys working in corporate law, capital markets, and other transactional practice areas. Students will complete multiple research assignments throughout the course and receive feedback on each, culminating in a final project. The course is recommended for students wanting to strengthen their skills with legal research to prepare for practice.

For students that have not taken Advanced Legal Research I, it is recommended that they be familiar with designing and executing legal research plans, conducting Boolean searches, and navigating unfamiliar legal research resources. The course will be graded credit/no credit.
