The seminar will focus on the impact on Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) on intellectual property theory and doctrine. In our weekly meetings, we will discuss recent papers, published and unpublished, that analyze how AI challenges copyright, patent, trademark, and trade secrets law. My aspiration is to bring the authors themselves to present to the class. Thus, the meetings will be conducted in the form of a workshop. Some of the meetings will take place via Zoom. Seminar participants will be required to submit a final paper on the topic of AI. Ideally, the papers should be on the core areas of intellectual property, but it would also be possible to write about publicity rights, deepfakes and issues relating to expression and innovation more broadly.
