The course will cover various facets of affirmative actions extended to sections of the population which are either subjugated or discriminated against. Countries such as India have acknowledged the necessity of extension of affirmative action through constitutional provisions, while others have been content in providing the same through legislative enactments. Justice Lalit's course will be designed as a comparative analysis of various regimes and the consequential effect that such actions have so far achieved. It would also cover the challenges to such actions in courts of law and the responses by the judiciary.
