This course will provide an overview of American Contract law, noting particular points of divergence with the contract law of other countries. There will be a particular focus on the development of common law doctrines in US courts. Topics will include offer and acceptance, consideration, defenses, remedies and damages. The course will also touch upon the intersection of contract law and international arbitration.
There will be only one final, multiple choice exam. Class participation will be important, as we will draw from the experiences of students with contract law training in other countries.
