JD/MBA Capstone One: Start-Up/Initial Capital Raise has been scheduled, the dates are: Oct. 21st (prep class, at the Law School), and the two-day session in San Francisco Oct. 23-24, 2026
Only JD/MBA students in their final year are able to attend this class.
This 1.5-credit experiential course is one of three required components of the JD/MBA Capstone (Start-Up/VC, Public M&A, and Restructuring). All three Capstone courses are required for JD/MBA students. In-person attendance at the scheduled session is the expected mode of participation; students should not enroll if they are unable to commit to attending in person. For students who are unable to attend a session in person due to a genuine scheduling conflict, an Independent Study option is available. The Independent Study consists of substantial written work product on the topic of the session, designed to approximate the work of the live session and commensurate with the course's rigor and credit load. Students completing the Independent Study will receive course credit but will not receive experiential learning credit for that session. Students relying on the Capstone to satisfy the Law School's experiential learning requirement should plan to attend in person. A student may use the Independent Study option for at most one of the three Capstone courses; students must attend at least two of the three sessions in person. Students intending to elect the Independent Study option must notify the instructor, Amanda Aronoff, and the Law Registrar in writing no later than four weeks before the scheduled session date.
