Course Continuity
Students are encouraged to stay home if you are ill or experience flu-like symptoms. If you miss a class for any reason, it is still your responsibility to make up the work missed.

I offer the following to students who miss class due to illness:

- Class sessions are regularly recorded. I will make these recordings routinely available on the course site to everyone in the class.

- I will make PowerPoint slides or other class materials routinely available on the course site to everyone in the class.

This course, which is designed for non-law students, will examine the fundamentals of business law. After a brief examination of the overall legal framework in the United States, the course will focus on the core legal issues faced by any business, including but not limited to contracts, agency and employment, business organizations, government regulation and torts. At the course's conclusion, students should be in a position not only to recognize these legal issues but also be better able to evaluate any offered advice.

The course topics will be examined through textbook materials, cases, legal documents, and class discussion. This course will require active class participation. The textbook for the course is Kubasek, Browne, Herron, Dhooge, and Barkacs, Dynamic Business Law.
