This course, designed for professionals and non-law students, will examine the fundamentals of business law. The course will focus on the core legal issues faced by those working in any business, in a variety of roles. Topics include contracts, employment law, business organizations and governance, and intellectual property. Students will gain a solid understanding of the many legal issues at play in making a variety of business decisions. At the course’s conclusion, students will be able to recognize potential legal issues in their current and future work and evaluate any offered advice. Law students (JD and LLM) are not permitted to take this class.
