This course, which is designed for non-law students, will examine the fundamentals of business law. The course will focus on the core legal issues faced by any business, including contracts, business organizations, employment law and intellectual property.

Course Format and Requirements: Fully Remote Class Synchronous Class. The syllabus includes the preparation required for each class to help you plan ahead and please check Canvas for updated readings and announcements. Asynchronous recordings will appear in the “Panopto Recordings” tab on Canvas after class. The course topics will be examined through textbook materials, cases, handouts, legal documents, and small group class discussion. We will have a variety of guest speakers to improve class discussion and practical learning outcomes. This seminar course will require active class participation. .

Grading: A final examination will comprise 80% of the grade, with the remaining 20% of the grade based on class participation.
