This one-credit survey course will provide students with foundational information about the Private Equity industry, representing a Private Equity Investment Sponsor, Private Equity funds, the investment acquisition and structuring processes, key terms and concepts vital to a Private Equity practice, the main documents used to memorialize a typical middle market Private Equity investment, and advice for succeeding as a junior associate in a big law Private Equity practice. We will also drill down on various important provisions of these investment documents and provide for hands-on work and feedback on that work. Course instruction will be provided by senior Kirkland & Ellis LLP PE/M&A partners.

The class will meet over a two-day special session: Friday, 11/8, and Saturday, 11/9.
