A major objective of this course is to assist students to bring to bear their own emergent concept of the sort of lawyer they each wish to be on the problems presented. We will examine the ways in which the Model Rules of Professional Conduct channel but do not displace the need for discretion and judgment in situations in which the lawyer faces conflicting obligations.
